I sent the following email to Vieira’s Resort regarding our horrible experience:
My family, the ***** Family, celebrated our annual family reunion at your venue this past Sunday, August 13, 2016. We were excited to come back as last year we had a great turn out, everyone has a great time, staff was friendly, and the owner invited us back for this year’s celebration. We planned to return and some of our group reserved their spots right away.
Unfortunately we did not have the same experience this year as we did last year. Although our group was smaller this year, we had the unfortunate experience of having an older male staff member on a golf cart being belligerently rude because we had parked cars by our sites, which we were allowed to do the prior year, and some people from our group said that they were not told not to park there, just that it would be hard to get in and out of that area, which we never had an issue with last year and as for myself and my husband who had just shown up, we were unloading our stuff and were going to move the car to the parking area. No one from our group was being overly loud, no one was drunk, no one was causing trouble or fighting with anyone. We were all sitting around talking and snacking.
No one from our group got into this man’s face, nor did anyone argue with him. This staff member was completely rude, and instead of pulling one of us aside and asking quietly and politely to have the cars parked in another location, he yelled at everyone, causing a scene, that “this is not how we do it here”, and that “These are tent sites, not parking spaces” (By the way, the cars were not parked in the tent sites as he claimed they were. They were parked to the right of tent site H. One of the cars was going to stay there anyway as a member of our group, *****, had reserved site H anyway), and that “the one in charge” needs to go to the office to speak with someone.
We sent *****over with his wife, *****, as the man in the golf cart kept pointing and asking who owned “this truck”, and we assumed that whoever owned “this truck” was the “one in charge” he wanted to have go to the office. Upon their return, both mentioned how rudely they were treated. One of our neighbors mentioned that last week there was a group where we were at who were loud and not respecting the rules or their neighbors. While that may have been the case, we were not a part of that group, and to having to deal with the backlash from their actions was completely uncalled for.
This whole incident put a damper on the whole day, as we could not stop talking about how rude that man was and how we had been enthusiastically invited back by the owner last year. We will never come back to your venue, and I will be making it known to everyone I know, plus leaving details of this incident on all marketing sites so that everyone knows how your staff treated us.
Some of our family members mentioned that the man was the owner. Regardless, he had no right to treat paying customers who were not doing anything wrong like they were little deviants causing trouble. I truly hope that someone speaks with this man and talks to him about professionalism.

My family has been coming to Vieiras for over sixty years and always have had a great time except this year I have been in charge of the family reunion for several years this year things changed the park is getting very dated from worn out showers to grumpy employees if your looking for good fishing this is the place but not for reunions or large partys the party has to end at 10pm even after the bar sell you all the liquor you can drink thank you Vieiras for all the good times
