The Great Prosser Balloon Rally 2012

The Great Prosser Balloon Rally 2012 was held September 27, 28, and 29th 2012.    Balloon pilots from across the Northwestern United States converged on Prosser, Washington to participate in The 24th Annual Great Prosser Balloon Rally.  What a spectacular event!  Pilots begin their launch from the Prosser airport around 6:15am.  Spectators are encouraged to arrive early.  There are even opportunities for spectators to assist the balloon pilots inflate, chase, and recover the Hot-Air-Balloons.

The most amazing event of the 3 day rally is the Night Glow which took place on Saturday evening.  This year there were 5 balloons which participated in the Night Glow at the Art Fiker Stadium.  There was live music provided by two different steel drum bands, Bram Brata and OK2Boytay.   The most impressive one was the Freedom Flight, Inc POW/MIA balloon from St. Cloud, MN and piloted by Luke Cesnik.  An impressive and touching site!  There were other balloons one of which was the Spirit of Boise piloted by Laurie Spencer from Boise, ID.

There were other FREE events going on all 3 days one of which was a Harvest Festival downtown Prosser.

All the events at The Great Prosser Balloon Rally are FREE!  A great family event!  Be sure to mark your calendars for the 2013 Rally.
