Seal Rock Campground is one of the few National Forest campgrounds located on salt water with harvestable oysters for public use.
This popular campground with its beautiful views of Hood Canal and the mountains to the southeast is located directly on Hood Canal 2 miles north of Brinnon on U.S. Highway 101.
The roads are paved, as well as the handicapped sites.
Camp Hosts are present from May to September to assist visitors.
Forty-one tent/RV sites are spaced among the trees with several along the waterfront.
There are 3 paved handicapped units and facilities that accommodate wheelchairs. There is also an accessible viewpoint.
The lengths of sites vary, with those along Hood Canal capable of handling the larger motorhomes and trailers.
There are no hookups.
Facilities include fresh piped water, flush toilets, electricity in restrooms, and a telephone.
Tables and fire pits are in each site.
Garbage cans are spaced throughout the campground.
Shellfish license required for oyster picking or clam digging and can obtained at the Brinnon General Store, two miles south of the campground.
Recreation near Seal Rock Campground
Recreation activities for all ages are many and varied.
There are 9 picnic tables, grills, fresh water and restrooms located in the day use/overflow parking area, oyster gathering (in season), scuba diving, clamming, crabbing, shrimping, and lovely scenery are all here to be enjoyed by the camper.
Carry-in boats, such as canoes and kayaks could be launched from the north landing.
Both the Native American and Marine Biology Nature Trails are universally accessible and both begin at the day-use parking area.
This area is within easy driving distance of short hikes such as Mt. Walker, Rainbow Canyon, and two trails in Falls View Campground that are easy walks through old-growth conifer stands and spring blooming rhododendrons.
