regaurding my camp trip july 19th thru the 23rd

We had great time. girls at check in counter were very helpful. (25 yrs of camping at other campgrounds and this is the first time the “check in Counter” was not chaos. The guys working on grounds. ie… slinging rafts and canoes. were always hustling and the guy on shore “receiving the raft” after float was over. was so helpful and impressed my hubby very much because he carried the cooler from raft to our truck. ( anyone who is familiar with floating, that cooler is a pain in the ***. after drinking all day on the river. Anyway the bus driver was very helpful also , he gave us the most info ( i have ever received) about the water, on the days river levels and obstruction. you know “watch out for…” and “you will know when you halfway because of …”

Kinda funny that i happened to visit the same week as the above “review”. almost like we are not speaking of same campground!!! maybe you were upset about cancellation policy and then you just looked for other stuff to be wrong. We had such a great time, we will be going there for a “day trip” on my birthday 2nd week in August.

This trip was a nightmare. The staff is incompetent and unable to provide quality customer care. We usually go to Garrison’s Resort, but due to poor planning, we were unable to reserve a site on our desired weekend, so we ended up here. We utilized the website to plan our trip. We made reservations for rafts and camping sites. When 1 week prior to our float, we realized that we had some cancellations, and needed to change our reservations. Despite the fact that the website clearly states that there is a 1 week advanced warning policy, we were told that we needed 8 days of advanced warning. We tried to talk to management, but they refused our calls and would not return them. When we finally got through to management, we were told that there is a new website with the policies, but the website is under construction, and we can’t view it. When pressed about why we are expected to follow policies that aren’t listed online, management simply stated that’s there policy.
Upon arrival, we found “security” at the gate checking cars to be sure everyone registers. At the campsite, we found that the campsites are TINY and there is no room to park at your campsite. We were interrupted many times at night by “security guards” checking cars. Not only were they driving loud 4 wheelers, but they kept shining lights through the site. After hours, there was no one checking the gate, so some of our party did not have their cars registered. The funny thing, is that if they had someone at the gate at night (since this is SO important to them), they could eliminate the need to drive through the campgrounds and leave us alone to have a good time.

Too expensive, stupid staff, small campgrounds….the only thing that was great was the weather. The float was too crowded to be relaxing. Try somewhere else!
