Recreation near Junction West RV Park

Colorado National Monument "Natural wonder of the Grand Valley. The monument consists of impressive geologic features including towering red sandstone monoliths; deep, sheer walled canyons; and a variety of wildlife – bighorn sheep, golden eagles, mule deer and mountain lions. . .” Established in 1911, the National Monument offers more than 20,000 acres; a dramatic twenty-three mile Rim-Drive; and self-guided hiking or backcountry trails.

Grand Mesa At over 10,000 feet the largest flat-top mountain in the world rises more than a mile above the valley floor. Discover aspen and spruce groves, flowered meadows and over 200 cool clear lakes offering fantastic fishing for rainbow, brook and brown trout. Grand Mesa has abundant wildlife, making this a popular area for hiking and fall hunting. In the winter, enjoy all types of snow sports from cross-country skiing to snowmobiling and snowball fights.

River Rafting – The Colorado River has many sections that are fun for rafting enthusiasts. Wild and historic Westwater Canyon is considered to be the best one-day whitewater trip in the area. Festivals Join us for a variety of festivals and special events – nearly every weekend in the summer and fall.
