Smart phone app would be great.

Lots of parks for Arizona, not so for Oklahoma. Keep growing, but keep it simple to use. I like what I see so far.

A search by map would be great. Nobody seems to have one that I have seen. At least not a good one. I like the site a lot though and find it the most helpful so far.

When I go to the Lake Huron Campground page the map is showing them up by Traverse City, but they are in Port Sanilac on the other side of the state, along Lake Huron in the thumb of Michigan’s mitten.

Has any thought been given to having a membership/sign in option for revisiting people? And/or opening/developing a forum for discussions. Other than that I love the concept and wish you luck and want to participate.

We stayed at the Paynetown Campgrounds and everything was fabulous with the exception of the restrooms. When we first arrived on Friday the restrooms were fine. However, by the time we left on Sunday, they had not been cleaned or restocked at all. No TP…no soap…trash recepticle was over flowing. Had it been a holiday weekend this would have been even worse. We will stay at this facility again because it was very nice. We just hope that the restrooms will be cleaned and restocked on a more regular basis in the future. Thank you…

Get rid of ads for meeting girls. Cheapens the listings. Makes me feel like I’m headed for hookers. Not ideal for families.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 5 Star Campgrounds prides itself on being a quality resource for campers, especially families who camp. As you can tell, we do post ads on the site keep the website free for visitors. The nominal income made from these ads helps cover the ongoing cost of maintaining the website. We currently use Google Adsense for the ads on our site.

We currently primarily use Google Adsense for our advertising. Google uses specific techniques to determine appropriate ads for the website. These techniques include scanning the webpage and placing an ad based on that content. Another way is based on a computer’s browser and search history. Google utilizes the latter technique to try and place ads that it thinks the end user would be interested in.

Google does allow us, the website owners, to block specific ads from specific websites. Unfortunately we need to know the specific website the ad in question is pointing to. I personally have never seen a dating ad on 5 Star Campgrounds so I don’t have any way of knowing which website to block.

If you see an ad that do feel is inappropriate for our site, please let us know the website name and I will promptly block it from the ads.

Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Nice site.
Technical correction needed: Powderhorn RV Park location is wrong. It is on Powderhorn Lake.

I would LOVE to use this site more but I’m new to camping. So we don’t know the names of campgrounds. It would be great if we could search by city name or areas within a certain distance from a searched city. I will use this site if I happen to know the name of a campground to find it’s rating. Thanks!!

Thanks for the comment. We recently moved 5 Star Campgrounds to a new server. During the move a few features such as advanced search and viewing all campgrounds in a state on a map broke. We are working on the issues and hope to have everything fully operational within the next few days.

      Thanks again for the reccomendations.

I and a friend, travelling from Central Virginia, attended the NC State Bluegrass Festival last weekend. The only compaint we have is that of arriving on Thursday afternoon and finding all the EMPTY folding chairs set up. There was no place to put our chairs! We would NOT be complaining about this if we had watched the chairs fill up for the shows. WE WATCHED THURS NIGHT AND ALL DAY SAT RIGHT UNTIL RHONDA VINCENT went on, with our chairs SITTING IN THE SUN, and 95% of the Pavilion (ROW AFTER ROW AFTER ROW AFTER ROW) AND the overflow EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We think the rule should be, if you set your chair up, you must watch the show. This rule would allow folks that WANT to see the bands, be able to SEE them! We are musicians and drove a long way to enjoy this.

Also, I thought you may want to know that Mapquest directs your campground to the east side of Marion on US 70.

Thanks for your comments Chuck. A map displaying all campgrounds in each state is the top item on my priority list. I had one when the site was first created but overtime it couldn't handle all of the campgrounds. With any luck the new mapping system will be in place soon.

I just found your site and it looks very good, something I think we could and will use. If you could show a map of the state with the campground listed on the map would be easier to find. We are fulltimers and know the general area we wold like to visit but don't know the names of the campgrounds in that area.
    Thanks Chuck

Thank you for your comment. The site is still a work in progress but I thoroughly enjoy working on it. If it assists just a few campers and campgrounds owners in improving the camping experience, it is well worth it.

Keep your campground comments coming in!
