The cost of entry and transportation for the upper launch point, sixteen miles from the camp ground, has been about $24.00 in the past. As of Sept 1, 2011 they have raised their rates to $58.00. Even though this is a beautiful paddle, our kayak club will no longer paddle this park. The amount that the park raised their fees is prohibitive. Too bad. If you would like to paddle a creek that is just as beautiful as this one, but for free, go to Telegraph Creek. Just east of Fort Myers you launch on the downstream side of the Franklin Locks, paddle west about a half mile and then enter the creek headed north. The first mile there are homes along the shore but after that you enter a wildlife preserve and the remaining three miles in is absolutely beautiful.

No hot tub that I saw, and they are re-vamping the whole place!! You won’t find a prettier place to camp! The primitive sites are awesome and in the summer were only $10 a night! We didn’t use the RV sites, but was told they were $22 a night. I think the rates go up in the winter to $15 for tents and 25 or so for RV’s? Staff were all helpful and friendly. The phone number you have listed here is wrong tho. The number is 863-675-5999. Maybe the number listed above was the old number before the new outfitters took over?
