Not so much for making visits there, but with no state income tax and low fees on vehicle registrations, some fulltimers make the Mount Rushmore State their legal domicile. Now, according to a local paper, state authorities are asking questions that are making some RVers uncomfortable.

Rating: 0/10 (0 votes cast)

The main principle behind the insects going away is refraction. Refraction is the bending of light when it travels from one medium to the other (air and water in this case). The refraction of light causes insects to have multiple visions. This causes confusion to arise in insects, and ultimately they experience multiple directions at once.

Rating: 0/10 (0 votes cast)

National Get Outdoors Day – June 12, 2010 Participants from federal agencies, nonprofit organizations and the recreation industry are again teaming up to host the second annual National Get Outdoors Day (GO Day) to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun at sites across the nation. On Saturday, June 12, these diverse partners will offer opportunities for American families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. Prime goals of the day are reaching currently underserved populations and first-time visitors to public lands, and reconnecting our youth to the great outdoors. Each GO Day event will offer a mix of information centers and “active fun” areas – places where guests, and especially kids, can use a fishing pole, go geocaching, help pitch a tent and more. The sites will provide photo opportunities with characters like Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and other interesting creatures. Many sites also feature areas that focus on other aspects of healthy living, including sustainability and good nutrition. In addition to the GO Day events, participants will be invited to nearby follow-up activities called EchO events occurring throughout the summer, which include introductions to mountain biking and fly-fishing, hikes with rangers to see wildlife, kayaking and rafting and [...]

Rating: 0/10 (0 votes cast)

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, the magical place many Montanans may remember from a school tour long ago, has declared June “Family Month.” The park will offer guided tours at $20 for a family of four. “ We’d like to see parents share the unforgettable experience of a Lewis & Clark caverns tour with their children,” said Lynette Kemp, Caverns park manager. ” Those who have not visited the caves recently will notice how the new lighting in the Paradise Room illuminates features in dramatic ways we could not achieve before.” The family discount includes two adults and two children. Additional family members will be $10 per adult, $5 for ages 6-11. There is no charge for children under the age of six. Lewis & Clark Caverns, one of the most highly decorated limestone caverns in the Northwest, is lined with colorful stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and helicitites. “We’d also encourage families to stop by the new visitor center that opened on May 15,” Kemp added. “The topographical relief map and other displays are a good way to orient oneself to all the park has to offer.” While at the park, families might also enjoy a hike on the [...]

Rating: 0/10 (0 votes cast)
