this is a wonderful find! we happened upon this park because we were travel weary and needed a place to stop.we came here and were able to obtain a spot full hook up for a most reasonable price. thay also accept the golden age passport.
as we discovered we were blessed with spot because it is the davy crockett enactment week end and by the next day this place was full!!!
there is a swimming pool, 2 dollars a day for campers, a small gift shop, momunets to davy crockett plus a cabin , outdoor oven, a wooden house which does not seem to be high enough for a smoke house, a deck good views ample picnic spots by the water and others, great hosts, friendly not nosey campers, kids who have fun and are considerate( yea parents!) clean bathrooms and showers( could use a couple more showers!) and they have two seperate buildings foe wheelchair persons, clean roomy and equipped. there is also one of less size in the regular bathroom but as stated need more as there is only the handicap and one regular size one. for the amount of campers it is far from adequate)
we stopped for a night and made it three. we are an elderly couple who enjoy families and children in the area and these were wonderful.
it is a new park, still in progress and while i am sure there will be improvements and additions i do hope they absoutely do not change it so much they lose this wonderful informative fun and friendly atmosphere.
for once i can say hey our goverment and parks have done a good thing! congrats tenn. job well done. thanks to the hosts and rangers and everyone who was here on the weekend of august 14, 15 16 and 17 in the year 2014
