Had a terrible experience at the beach on a sunday after noon. My 3 year was swimming and another child who was approximately 11 went up to my child in the water and pulled his floaties off of him because she thought they were for her relative. When the family of the child who took the floaties were confronted on the issue they became very irate. Went to the office to complain about the incident and was told that there was nothing they could do about it, she stated there is no security on sundays. We have camped at the RV park several times before and realy enjoyed it but after this terrible experience i dont think we will ever return, especially on a sunday with no security.I do not feel that this is a very safe place to bring your family.

trashy place. no security. while were paying full price to get in, others getting in free bc they hide their children. Please write your name on kids toys/swim items bc people steal from you here, and theres nothing “managment” can do.

went to crooked creek to spend some time with family, my thre year old was swimming for a hour before a black kid came and pulled his floaties off while he was in the water. we argued with the parents and hey said the floaties were theirs and wouldnt give them back. we went to front desk and was told theirs nothing they cound do so put ur names on all your kids toys or they will take them out ur kids hands and there
is nothing u can do.they should have security there with that many people there and expecially with people that shouldnt be in public.

We’ve been camping here several times in the past year and we absolutely love it. The water has always been very clean when we have gone swimming. The bathrooms are old and run down, in need of repair and cleaning. Lots of nice shaded areas. Trees and water scenery is peaceful! No cell phone service in most spots, but that is PLUS for me. Its not a newer campground that offers free wifi, mini golf, swimming pool, etc. but its a nice getaway. We have a directv dish and receiver and were able to watch tv. Security does patrol quite frequently. There was never any trouble. I always felt safe.

went to crooked creek recreational park on july 9, 2011. They charged us $4.00 a person to go in swimming. We were at a family reunion close by and our group paid over $50.00 to go swimming for 3 hours. When we started to leave i tried to go to the restroom, I got as far as the door. Human waste was on the floor everywhere. This is a public health issue and should be fixed immediately or close down the Park. Inspections should take place on a regular basics to prevent this from happening. How can we advertise for people to come into our state and visit our Parks when they are in this condition. The algae was so bad in the lake and in the swimming area, I was afraid of the bacteria in the water.
