One Response to Chief Hosa Campground

The “Denver Parks & Recreation Dept” is extremely OVER proud, as well as, extraordinarily deceptive (The layout map of the campsites is even worse than the reality; while the few pictures they show are MUCH prettier than the reality!) of Chief Hosa!

IF this place has any 50 amp or pull-thru sites, they are either hidden well or reserved for the camp hosts (the ONLY good thing I can say about the place!). Between paying the ridiculously high price of $30/night (water, 30 amp service, & WI-FI, which is down more than up); the $1/night per pet fee (even though we, the camper, clean up after them & keep them on a leash or in the RV); the way over-priced dump fee of $23 (we were told the campsite wasn’t on sewer, yet somewhere here someone is…); a $5 “extra” car charge if family or friendsriends are going to be here more than 15 minutes; the $3.25/night per person if a family member(s) or friend(s) stays overnight; BUT we also had to put up with VERY narrow sites (we couldn’t even figure out which picnic table was “ours”!), NO views because the camper on either side of you had their trailer, RV, or vehicle blocking whatever view you had had.
In fact, the majority of the sites labeled as “RV” on the park map could only accommodate a pop-up or an RV or trailer less than 38′; Plus you’re given a ridiculously LONG list of ludicrous rules!!!

None of this would be so bad, or make a Colorado visitor feel as though they were being ripped off, IF the Denver Parks and Recreation Dept used these exorbitant charges to make improvements & other updates!! Chief Hosa Campground was one of the first motorized campsites in this State, if not our Country (@1918)!! So WHY ignore this historical National Monument???

All of this wouldn’t be so bad IF
